What's Moonrabbit Haven?

Moonrabbit Haven is a place for chill people to chill and talk to other chill people. It helps to be into rabbits, at least a little bit. Moonrabbit Haven is made of two different components: community and content.
Picture
The online community contains the Minecraft and Discord server. It's not really a fan club or anything, but more of a place for people with common interests (okay, people from my school) to be shielded from the horrors of the Internet. Not letting any jerks in requires a lot of moderation, but also a nice mindset: I don't think anyone's really a jerk (besides the obvious people). If people are put in a place that's respectful and nice, they will want to be nice back. On sites like Reddit or Twitter, you can say whatever the hell you want and then leave. Here, your words have consequences! Mods aren't allowed to abuse their power or anything- all they're allowed to do is mute you if they feel like you're making conflict, kick you if you need some time to cool down, or ban you if you are not trying to sort things out. We're not all the same, but we're all deserving of nice-ness. We can all get along.
Also, I'm really into feudal Japan right now because of Zelda and Usagi Yojimbo and Samurai Jack so that's the theme of everything. FALL 2020 EDIT: it was a phase

The Moonrabbit Haven website is a home for my content. If I ever make anything worth viewing this'll be like a portfolio. If you wanted to see my stuff or get updates on how my projects are going, this is where you'd go. Links, downloads, and resources for the Minecraft server (like guides and lists of commands) can be found here when they start existing.

What are Moonrabbits?

Good question. In short, they're rabbits that live on the Moon. Except half of them live on Earth. In... long... they're creatures I discovered while doodling away the summer of first grade. They're fat, rabbitlike creatures with soft white fur and very long ears, and they've been in just about every drawing, comic, game, or story I've thought up since I was six. They have been featured on a website and Minecraft server (pictured below) since 2015, a short-lived official Instagram page, merchandise (including maternity shirts), an eighty page comic in third grade- they've been the subject of pretty much anything a ten-thirteen year old could create for free (or close to it) online. Growing the ever expanding world of Moonrabbits has been pretty good motivation for my creative projects over the years- Moonrabbits are vessels for pure, stupid, overenthusiastic creativity. Moonrabbit lore is a pretty complicated subject that I know all about and am also not at the liberty to discuss. It will be documented eventually. Moonrabbits have also been known to enjoy eating cake.

Who's Henry the Moonrabbit?

Me! I get some help from my friends, but as of 2020, everything you're seeing here was made by me. I'm hoping to someday make more content that requires a team, but that won't be for awhile. For now this website is a home for projects I feel like tying in to the Moonrabbit world.

I've been making junk online since 2014 but I never learned how to code, manage a server, or even draw that well until high school, and I'm still kind of figuring out most of that stuff now. (Especially the drawing part. Have you seen the pixel art we're using? :I) It's been kind of fun coasting along not paying for anything and seeing what I can do but I'm ready to do this for real now. I hope you like my stuff!

How to support me! (lol)

For some reason I've been fixated on Moonrabbits since I started drawing them at summer camp when I was six Moonrabbits have been the focus of comics, servers, websites, and assorted merch over the years. Shop Moonrabbit (on Teespring) has the latest and hottest Moonrabbit-related designs, and more are on the way! The world of Moonrabbits (which is, contrary to popular belief, not on the moon) has been a vessel for my unfocused creativity for the past nine years and will continue to be in the years to come. If you want to support my creative efforts, buy something or donate! Donating any amount of money over 5$ or buying merch from the store will get you the Donor rank everywhere in Moonrabbit Haven, and you'll be doing me a solid. Right now, all the money I make from Moonrabbit-related transactions goes right back to paying the subscriptions that keep their world online, so by giving me your hard earned money you are directly funding current and future projects! I really want to make Moonrabbit stuff as an adult, and supporting my stuff gives me a head start. (Work will resume on the Untitled Moonrabbit RPG in a few months.)

I use MCProHosting to host the Minecraft server, they're really great and have awesome support and very little downtime (Use code MOONRABBIT for 15% off (not really))
I use Weebly to make the website (yeah, I don't code most of it, sorry) and I would only kind of recommend them. Look into other options if you don't want to code your own website, you don't have a lot of freedom without knowing how to edit the HTML.
I use Teespring for the merch shop. Teespring is very slick and easy to use; after using Cafepress for 5 years the lack of popup ads and the ability to customize your storefront and stuff is really nice. I highly recommend Teespring if you want to make your own merch (for free).
A lot of the pixel art on this website was made with PixilArt, which is a great in-browser pixel-art editor. It's easy (and free) to use if you're looking to do some simple graphics. I switched to Aseprite over the summer of 2020 (which I also highly recommend) and it's also what I'm drawing my game in.
